GAMBIA IS GOOD
The Travel Foundation funds a Charitable marketing organization set up by Concern Universal. The marketing is done in partnership with British soft fruit and Polytunnel Company called Haygrove. The ultimate objective is to provide smaller Gambian fruit and vegetable growers a route to market, sell their products competively directly to the tourism industry and beyond. The profits are return back to the growers making it a sustainable project.
At best, it can be dubbed a “fair-trade”’ marketing company.
GIG, as it is famously called is a 2008 Sustainable Tourism Award Winner at the London World Travel Market.
